There is currently an issue with Google Drive files being embedded in Canvas. A workaround for the following error is below.
If you receive this message, fear not the file is still accessible! Although the error states the file cannot be accessed, behind the scenes Google has still shared this file. This means it's now in the users Google Drive. When encountering this message in a Canvas course, head on into Google Drive, specifically the Shared with Me or Recent tab.
There the file that Canvas indicated was not accessible will be listed under Today.
Keep in mind it will only be at the top of these lists once. After a day or so, searching for the file by name may be necessary.
Our hope is Canvas and Google remedy this inconvenience shortly.
If this workaround does not work to provide the needed file, please reach out to your teacher and/or submit a ticket to the FCA Helpdesk so they can share a copy of the needed Google File.
